My name is Berta, and I am caring for my mom, Ramona. She is blind and also struggles with heart problems, which means she needs regular medicine and doctor visits. Unfortunately, I am low income and we live far from the city, so it’s very difficult to find work or get her the care she needs. We don’t have a car, and there’s no family or other support to help us.

Despite all these challenges, Ramona is incredibly strong. Even though she’s blind, she still walks around, washes dishes, and helps with laundry—with our help, of course. Her blindness doesn’t stop her from trying to live as independently as possible. She means everything to us, and I want to do everything I can to make sure she’s safe, healthy, and cared for.

The funds from this fundraiser will go directly toward Ramona’s medical bills, her medicine, food, and the basic things she needs for our home. It will also help us with transportation so I can get her to the doctor when she needs it. We just ask for support—anything helps to get her medicine, food, and things she needs.
