Hello all- for those who know me well, this is really hard and unusual for me to do. As many of you know, my father Ralph Magaña passed away Christmas Eve after years suffering from vascular dementia. Sadly, tragedies like this also have other unfortunate consequences that add insult to injury, such as my brother Julio and I missing a lot of work, and our mother having to transition to just receiving only one fixed income from social security. (On top of everything and probably due to extreme stress, I just threw my back out, just as I was planning to work a few shifts before my father’s memorial next week.)

We’re asking for just a little help to cover unforeseen hardship expenses that have emerged due to my father’s death. For utter transparency this is NOT for covering my father’s funeral service as he had the foresight some years ago to pay for his cremation and service ahead of time, although it may consequently help us pay for the food for a reception. This money will mostly be used for all the unforeseen financial strains due to the extremely difficult weeks leading up to, and the harsh circumstances following, our father’s death.
