Support for Quasimodo’s Amputation
Donation protected
Meet Quasimodo. Quasi is 5 months old and loves to play with plush mice, squeaky toys, and his siblings. Unfortunately, Quasi played a little too hard one morning and fell from his cat tree injuring his left hind leg. After a trip to the emergency vet, we discovered that he had fractured and displaced the ball on the tip of the femur that connects to the hip socket. We were told we had two options - find a surgeon that could perform a specialty surgery to cut the ball of the bone, or we could amputate. After a lot of questions, tears, and discussion with the doctor we decided an amputation would be the best route with his age and health.
Quasimodo is my baby, as I’m sure many with pets can agree, and this has been one of the most difficult situations I’ve ever been put in as a pet owner. I have to ask for help, I can’t do this alone. We were quoted between $1,500-$2,000 for the amputation on top of the $1,400 vet visit to diagnose his injury.
Thank you for taking the time to read about Quasimodo’s story and for any and all donations. Here’s to a healthy, happy life for this baby.
