Support for Quality of Life Surgery and Recovery
We are reaching out with heavy hearts and hopeful spirits on behalf of our beloved DaVinci — an incredibly brave and beautiful 8-year-old boy who has been fighting battles most of us can’t even imagine.
DaVinci was born with Hypoxic-Ischemic Encephalopathy (HIE) and has since been diagnosed with a long and painful list of complex medical conditions including epilepsy, undiagnosed seizures, neuromuscular lung disease, microcephaly, gastroesophageal reflux disease, neuromuscular scoliosis, chronic encephalopathy, and Spastic Quadriplegic Cerebral Palsy. Every day is a fight — every breath, every moment, every smile — is hard won for him.
Now, DaVinci is facing yet another critical medical intervention: a tracheostomy surgery to help him breathe more safely, comfortably and hopefully lengthen his short life expectancy. This procedure will take place July 8th at Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester, NY. While the surgery will offer hope for better quality of life, it also marks the beginning of a difficult and overwhelming new chapter for his family.
Your donation or sharing of this fundraiser — no matter the size — will help cover:
• Lost wages during his extended hospital stay (1–2 months of recovery and at home recovery period)
• Travel, food, and lodging costs that may not be covered as the family stays close to the hospital
• Essential medical supplies and equipment not covered by insurance
Please consider donating or sharing DaVinci’s story. Help us lighten the load for a family who gives their all — day in and day out — for the son they love beyond measure. Follow his journey on Facebook @ DaVinci’s Journey.
From the bottom of our hearts, thank you.
