Our dad, James known as “Pops” to so many has been fighting esophageal cancer with everything he has. We’ve watched him fight through unimaginable pain, holding on as long as he could. But after losing so much of his strength and quality of life, he made the incredibly difficult and personal decision to pursue Death with Dignity.

On Saturday, we will be saying goodbye to our dad.

There are no words to fully describe the kind of man our dad is. He wasn’t just our dad, he was a safe place, a source of laughter, and a light in so many people’s lives. He had a way of making everyone feel like family. So many people know him as “Pops” because that’s exactly who he was, someone who showed up, cared deeply, and loved without hesitation.

The weight of it all is overwhelming, emotionally and financially. We want to give our dad the goodbye he deserves, to honor him with the same love, and dignity he gave to everyone around him.

We are asking for help to ease the burden of these final costs so we can focus on being present with him in these last moments and honoring his life.
