Po'ikeaolani has blessed our lives in 2020. Having her has been such a joy as she fills our hearts with those smiles that can melt you. She is a loving big sister to her 6 month old brother, absolutely adores her big brother, and continues to keep her daddy in line every moment he's out of her sight. He and her mommy are a beautiful representation of hard working parents providing for their children and their happiness.

Po'ikeaolani just turned 2 years old this month (May 2022) and was diagnosed with Retinoblastoma a few days after. Retinoblastoma as described by the American Cancer Society is "a cancer that starts in the retina, the very back part of the eye." Retinoblastoma is classified in stages A-E. "A" being less invasive to "E" where the eye has little to no chance of the eye being saved. Unfortunately, our sweet Po'i has been diagnosed with stage D eye cancer in her right eye. She currently has been seen by a few doctors, had an MRI and a CAT scan and awaits the next steps from Stanford Hospital in Palo Alto. As for current treatment, she will be receiving continued care and chemotherapy in California.

As independent parents, they would never want to ask for support of other people's time or money. WE as ‘ohana and friends, who love this happy young family with all our heart and appreciate their dedication to their children, know that as visits to the doctor’s office becomes prevalent, so do the bills and expenses therefore this GoFundMe page is meant to support Po'i and her family. The funds will go to paying for her medical expenses not covered by her insurance as well as travel expenses FROM Hawai'i TO California for her and parents to see specialists and continue to receive treatment.

We all can assist and support them individually or as a whole, in the capacities that allow, along with continued prayer for protection, comfort and stability during and through this heartbreaking process.
