My friend PJ and his wife Amber had their beautiful daughter Josie on November 22nd of this year. She was 36 weeks when she was born because of Amber having Preeclampsia and Gestational Hypertension, as well as Josie’s head measuring bigger than what it should have been.
Josie was born with a Rare Syndrome, which they are still waiting for the test results to verify which one, as well as Severe Dandy Walker Malformation, Hydrocephalus, and Tetralogy of Fallot (hole in her heart). She has already had a brain surgery to place a Shunt in to drain the fluid when she was 4 days old. The Dandy Walker is so severe that she only has the outer part of her brain but about 75% of her brain is missing. When she was born they only gave her a 40% chance of living.
Unfortunately, PJ lost his job unexpectedly the day before Josie was born and only received 10% of what he should have been paid. They had to relocate to Omaha, which is about 2 hours away from home, the week before she was born because of the High Risk Pregnancy. Bills are still adding up but PJ and Amber are where they need to be with their baby girl. Anything would help!
