Support for Philip & Mary-Del Farm
Sharon, Connecticut is a beautiful area that was once a thriving dairy, beef and other agricultural related community. These days, Sharon still has all the earmarks of a rural community, with beautiful scenery and a lovely town, but there are only a few remaining dairy and agricultural enterprises left that keeps it connected to its roots.
One such enterprise is Mary-Del Farm, owned and operated by Philip Grindrod. Those who know Philip, know of his contributions to the community. Not only from the dairy products, which have provided fresh milk to many people over the years, but his support to smaller farms and agricultural hobbyist in the area. Whether it be providing those last few hay bales needed to get a neighbor’s horse through the winter, or lending equipment out to help someone bale hay, Philip is most certainly a helpful and respectable member of the community.
Recently though, Philip has encountered medical issues that have rendered him incapable of fulfilling the daily tasks required. To continue operating his 2nd generation family farm, family and friends are pitching in to do whatever needs to be done. Just as Philip has so often answered the calls of help from others, now is the time to return the favor to one of our last few local dairy farmers.
Contributions will not only go toward his medical expenses for tests, physical therapy and, if necessary, surgery, but it will also go towards operating costs associated with running the farm, veterinary bills, grain, and other necessary supplies.
Our neck of the woods would not be what it is today of it wasn’t for people like Philip continuing to run these small, yet substantial, family farming operations.
Your contributions, no matter how small, will be greatly appreciated.
