Support for Peter Wright in ICU with meningitis

Hello, my name is Brooke, and I'm asking for help.

I'm currently sitting in hospital where my brother in law Peter lays in critical condition after meningitis turned to sepsis last Monday.

His condition has deteriorated with right hand side paralysis after he had a stroke last Friday morning. Pete is unable to talk, and is currently intubated in a medical coma.

The doctors aren't sure why he is not improving with treatment, or whether the paralysis is permanent.

Pete is 34 years old, an incredible hands on Dad and a doting husband. He loves playing soccer in the backyard with his boys, he sends hilarious memes, has an impressive Pokemon card collection (a love he shares with his eldest son) and has incredible grit and determination as a sole trader in web design.

His symptoms started with a strep throat and we are in disbelief that what he has now is an incredibly rare response to Group A Streptococcus, an organism that generally lives on the skin.

Many people are contacting me and asking how they can help his beautiful young family, Sophie, Paxton and Sawyer.

I've decided to set up this Go fund me so that Sophie can have time off work to support Pete. Additional funds will be for any future medical expenses to get the best specialists team together and to support the whole family process this traumatic time.

We also want to continue life as normal as possible for the boys by continuing their activities.

They are frightened and confused, we all are.

Our hope remains that Pete will turn a corner, kick the soccer ball in the backyard with his beautiful boys and be able to play the Nintendo switch again with his 6 year old.
