On October 24th, my dad, Peter Breece, was diagnosed with kidney cancer that has spread to his lungs and a mass in the peritoneum. Because it has reached other parts of his body, the doctors consider it stage 4. Since then, our lives have been filled with doctor appointments, tests, and a lot of uncertainty, but also hope. We’ve been working closely with his oncologist to determine the best treatment plan. Thankfully, his blood work has been good, and on December 3rd, he started immunotherapy along with a medication to target the mass on his kidney and the other areas affected. For now, therapy will be every three weeks, and if things go well, it may be spaced out further.
We are still in the early stages of this diagnosis, but my dad is determined to fight with everything he has. The doctors have recommended he avoid large gatherings, but he’s able to see a few people at a time, which helps keep his spirits up. The financial burden of ongoing treatments and medical bills is significant, and that’s why we’re reaching out for help.
Any support, whether through donations or by sharing this fundraiser, means the world to us. Thank you for standing with Peter and our family as we face this challenge together. Your kindness and encouragement give us strength to keep moving forward.
