Support for Pete and Lisa's New Beginning
Donation protected
DONATIONS STILL NEEDED. for there is a bunch a red tape going on with relief help from the government that Lisa and Pete are dealing with at the current time. Will have another update soon....
NOTE: This is from Lisa and Pete, who are now in Horseshoe Beach currently trying to get business taken care of.........
THANK YOU…. we are humbled by the donations and support….. Our goal is to get a new power pole, 200 amp breaker box, and a electric meter price $1,380 this week and get our septic tank fixed at an estimated $5,000-$8,000 so we can use our lot where our home once stood. Pete is recovering well after his 6 days in the hospital, but is not back to work :(
Please continue to pray for us and all those affected by the recent storms. God Bless Everyone!
Currently, Lisa and Pete are trying to piece their lives back together and for Pete's recovery. Continue to send prayers or add to your prayer list. Keep in mind we are still in Hurricane season and Florida got hit again with a CAT 4, therefore Florida suffers another blow, as well as the folks in Carolinas trying to recover (that will take years). Lisa and Pete have been surrounded by family and friends out of Florida to help them where they can. This is especially putting a emotional strain on Lisa and Pete. Please share this Go Fund Me Page in your network of people and if you can, continue to send prayers, support or whatever it may be to ALL the victims of Hurricane Helene and Milton in the southeast. God Bless America and the Americans in this country....WE STAND TOGETHER and HELP EACH OTHER!
My name is Sue Lewis and I am a native Floridian, but this is not about me, for it's about a special couple and their 2 dogs. As Floridians, we have seen our fair share of devastating hurricanes over the years, but for this special family, the past 13 months have been especially hard for them. Let me introduce Pete and Lisa Bregenzer, plus their dogs Bella and Hannah of Horseshoe Beach, Florida.
Their devastating journey began in August of 2023 when Hurricane Idalia, a Category 3, came through and devastated the Horseshoe Beach in the Big Bend area of Florida. This is where Pete and Lisa found out that they lost their home, belongings, memories, and their livelihood, like so many other people. The journey of recovery then began, through getting help from recovery teams like Red Cross, etc., as well as family and friends. Fast forward to 2024... Through ups and downs this past 13 months, living in a State of Florida issued trailer they call home now, it does provide shelter for them, but Pete and Lisa still struggle emotionally with their loss in 2023 but have their faith in God and the Baptist Church they attended. Well, as we all know, it's hurricane season, and here comes Hurricane Debby in August 2024, a Category 1, but the emotional stress is still fresh in the community of Horseshoe Beach.
Even though Hurricane Debby did some damage, no one was prepared for what Hurricane Helene, a powerful Category 4, was going to unleash on September 26, 2024, of epic devastation to the states of Florida, Georgia, the Carolinas, Tennessee, and especially the western part of North Carolina, which will take years of recovery.
We are here today to give a short version of the emotional story that Pete and Lisa endured the last week of September 2024. With Helene approaching and starting to prep, evacuate, etc., Pete was rushed to the hospital, which was 1.5 hours away, on Sept. 22, 2024, and a week later, they found out at some point he had a silent heart attack, among other things. In the meantime, that left Lisa to get what belongings they had left to safety, the 2 dogs, and all the hurricane prepping it takes to prepare, for she did the best she could. Well, with her concern about Pete and their upcoming 34th wedding anniversary (by the way which was Sept. 29th), she had to leave him in the hospital and not be by his side so she could do what she needed to do. The community of Horseshoe Beach (by the way, 95% of it is gone now) evacuated inland with many friends and neighbors to wait the storm out. The morning after the storm, Lisa woke up to the news of a friend and neighbor who passed away in the night. Then, NO ONE could prepare Lisa or the community, who were still recovering from the 2023 hurricane, for what they were going to witness in the aftermath. Lisa and Pete not only lost what little belongings they had left, but they lost their community, church, all the businesses, etc. IT WILL BE A VERY LONG RECOVERY!
My family and our church here in Georgia are currently helping Pete and Lisa out to bring some kind of peace to them and a new start of life and comfort. Please continue to send prayers and help wherever you can to all who are affected by this hurricane, but especially to our friends that desperately need the support and healing. God bless everyone!
