We are coming together to support an incredible woman — Penny, a beloved coworker, a kind soul, and a true fighter — who is facing one of the most difficult moments of her life. Penny is a valued and dedicated Publix associate, someone who truly represents what it means to care for others. At Publix, we are more than coworkers — we are a family, and when one of us is hurting, we come together to lift them up.

Years ago, Penny gave the ultimate gift of love by donating one of her kidneys to her husband, who is now very ill. This year, her heart endured unimaginable pain when she lost her son, a loss no parent should ever have to face. Now, Penny is courageously battling advanced cervical cancer, while also living with a history of heart surgery and only one remaining kidney. Despite everything her body and heart have been through, she continues to show up with strength, grace, and a smile, always caring more about others than herself. Even on days when she feels unwell, Penny keeps working, offering kindness, warmth, and concern for everyone around her. She is loving, hardworking, compassionate, and resilient beyond words.
