On February 2nd, my grandson Paxton underwent surgery to remove a large tumor from his ear and neck. While the surgery was successful, it was a difficult process—one lymph node and part of his saliva gland also had to be removed. After the operation, Paxton’s mom noticed that his surgical site wasn’t healing as expected. Despite her repeated calls and pleas for help, she was told everything was normal and was even encouraged to let him play in his basketball game. When she sent photos of his ear, the surgeon declined to review them, and appointments were refused.

By February 24th, Paxton’s incision had developed holes, and by the next morning, the back of his ear was a gaping wound, no longer properly attached. Still, the surgeon’s office dismissed her concerns. Refusing to give up, she got Paxton referred to Children’s Hospital in OKC, where the team immediately recognized the severity of his condition and called the lack of care unacceptable. Now, our family is left picking up the pieces—physically, emotionally, and financially.

We are facing mounting medical bills, travel costs, and the challenge of living away from home while Paxton receives the care he needs. The weight is heavy, but we are doing everything we can for him. Thank you for your support—it is very much appreciated and will mean so much to our family.
