It hurts more than I can explain to even be writing this.

My dad Paul Edward sanders jr who many may have known as paradise is a man who many people know. He’s had a past — one he openly owns. When he was younger, he spent time in jail. But when my siblings and I were born, he made a choice that changed everything. He stepped up. He changed his life. He fought for full custody of us when we had no mother figure, and from that moment on, he dedicated his life to being our father. At 20 years old, I helped raise my younger siblings — Wonderful (5), Srida (16), and Kamora (14). But none of the sacrifices my dad made for us ever went unnoticed. He worked hard. He protected us. He loved us loudly. He made sure we were okay no matter what he had to go through.
On New Year’s Eve, our world shattered. My dad was diagnosed with a rare sarcoma and Stage 4 cancer that has spread to his lungs and left leg.
Since then, everything has moved so fast. He was only able to receive one dose of chemotherapy before getting COVID, which led to a hospital stay. He then underwent radiation, which unfortunately caused a severe infection in his leg. Doctors attempted surgery to remove the infection, but because his lungs are now severely compressed from the cancer, chemotherapy is no longer an option. We were told it would not help.
Now, in March, we are preparing to bring my dad home on hospice care. We’ve been told he likely has less than six months left with us.
I’m only 20 years old, and I’m now facing the responsibility of helping care for my dad in his final chapter while also being there for my siblings. My dad raised me to be strong — but this is heavy. I know I can’t do this alone.Anything given is deeply appreciated from the bottom of my heart. Every donation will go toward making sure my dad is comfortable, honored, and sent away peacefully the way he deserves. Any remaining support will help me continue caring for my younger siblings as we move forward through what will be the hardest journey of our lives.

If you can’t donate, please share. Please pray. Please keep us in your thoughts.

Thank you for seeing my dad for the man he became — not just the man he once was.

With love and gratitude,
Sanders family
