Support for Patrick Dowd's Plight

Hello friends, family, and community members. My name is Stephen ("Gibby/Butters") Gibson, and I am starting this GoFundMe on behalf of Patrick Dowd. Many of you may know Pat from his years in the service industry, as a chef from Le Cordon Bleu or as security. Some of you know him as your Football Coach at St. Charles North or East High Schools, a Dean's Assistant at St. Charles North High School, a Teacher's Aide at Mades-Johnstone School, or from his years of study at the University of Iowa. Many as a dear friend. Chances are, if you have met Pat, you probably have been lucky enough to be greeted by one of his bear hugs, enjoyed his contagious laugh, and most likely adored his fun-loving company.

I'm reaching out to our community because he needs some help.

Pat recently and suddenly lost his best friend and little brother, James Dowd. Pat and James were devoted and inseparable brothers, and his grief is understandably insurmountable. With the loss of his brother, Pat was displaced, leaving him without a home, necessities, and transportation. We were able to get Pat into a temporary living situation and provide him with essentials, but he is in immediate need of financial assistance to continue to move upward and onwards.

We are certain that our community is the best around and that with your help, we can get Pat back on his feet and feel some much-needed love and support during this stressful time.

The money raised in this fund will go directly to Pat. It will assist him in, finding and obtaining a permanent living situation, securing means of transportation, that will help him continue to get to and from work, and will help provide necessities, such as food/meals, essentials, and clothing.

I have known Pat since high school, and many of you have known him

even longer. Among all the things mentioned here, Pat is a loyal friend; both humbled and deeply appreciative of the help he has received so far. At times, we have all needed someone to be there for us. Someone to show up, to see you, to understand you, to lend a gentle hand without judgment, and to love you without conditions.
