Last night in Paterson, NJ, a devastating fire destroyed my family’s home and displaced 24 people, including eight members of my immediate family. In a matter of minutes, they lost nearly everything they owned.

I am the daughter and niece of several of the people affected, and I created this fundraiser to help my family begin rebuilding after this heartbreaking loss.

Among those impacted is my father, who suffers from serious heart problems, my brother, and my disabled uncle, who now face the challenge of starting over without the basic necessities they rely on every day.

My aunt, who is raising her two young granddaughters, ages 3 and 10, also lost her home and belongings in the fire. She is now trying to care for them while navigating the uncertainty of what comes next. Two of my other aunts, both living on fixed incomes, were also displaced and are struggling to rebuild after losing everything.

Right now, they are staying with relatives, but this is only a temporary solution. They urgently need help securing stable housing and replacing essential items lost in the fire, including medications, clothing, toiletries, and other basic necessities. Donations will also help cover food, transportation, medical needs, and other urgent expenses as they begin the difficult process of rebuilding their lives.

All funds raised through this fundraiser will be withdrawn and distributed directly to the affected members of my family to help them replace what was lost and take the first steps toward stability again.
