Support for Pastor Mike and his family!

Friends, a true man of God and his family can still use your prayers and assistance as they find themselves in a financially challenging season.

If you have been part of their journey over the last several months, you're aware that these requests are from the utmost position of humility and gratitude.

These efforts on gofundme have taken many months to compile and communicate. Men aren't always the greatest at asking for help and we don’t always like to admit that we do need to allow the generosity of others to assist us during our times of need, and Mike and his family are eternally grateful.

Many of you know (and some of you don’t) that Mike Bonomo is a friend and co-laborer in Christ. His history includes decades of discipleship experiencing his own pre-Jesus and post-Jesus testimony and if you’ve heard his story, you know that it’s nothing short of miraculous. His story, like many others points to an all-knowing and all-loving God of the universe that is great and good in so many ways. The Lord has been using Mike to reach the lost in the recovery world for many years. As a result, many of the people that the Lord has placed before him have been transformed by the glory of God for the glory of God and their benefit. Mike has discipled, baptized, married and (sadly) buried friends and family as the godly resource that the Lord has shaped him to be throughout his years of service both in his local church and his recovery ministry.

Mike was laid off in the fall of 2023 from a prominent position in treatment, where he counseled men and women through the stages of change from addictive behaviors to a new life of sobriety and spiritual clarity. Mike pours himself out personally and professionally to all that he encounters and loves fiercely in the manner of Jesus. Since his layoff, Mike remained faithful to pastoral ministry while considering a different career path that ultimately didn’t work out. He continues to voluntarily counsel those in recovery, relying on the Lord and leading men in his church with study and wise godly counsel.

His wonderful wife, Lisa has struggled with chronic pain for the majority of her adult years and is currently unable to work. The diagnoses of fibromyalgia and other ailments such as migraines have been debilitating for them. When the migraines hit, they are so bad that she is relegated to dark and quiet spaces until the pain subsides. If you struggle with chronic pain and/or migraines then you can relate to what is being described. Chronic pain is debilitating and often shackles her from leaving their home. Together they share one vehicle and live in a townhome community.

Their children have experienced their own bouts with mental and emotional health issues, some of which are too private to mention here other than to say that Mike is the anchor that binds the family together. Amidst painful experiences for family members he is the one that they call to nurture and help in their times of need, to which Mike readily lends a hand despite his own coffers being bare. He freely gives of what he has and that’s just the guy that he is.
They love the Lord, and they love others and friends, they need your help.

Will you join me in sharing the love and hope of Jesus with one of our own? Truly, anything helps.
Blessings.
