Hello everyone!

First off, my parents don’t know I created this fundraiser. They are two of the most selfless people I know, and also very private. Initially, I wanted to start a meal train for them, until I read into all of the very serious food restrictions my mom will have to follow while she is recovering from the transplant.

Post-transplant care is very intensive and crucial to the health of my mom and her new liver. It involves 24-hour care and presence of at least one person to watch over her at home, multiple trips a week back to Henry Ford Hospital for check-ins, and costly medications that she will be taking for the rest of her life to keep the new liver from rejecting. I created this fundraiser because I know my mom and dad’s circle is large and many have asked if they can help in any way.

With this fundraiser, I hope to raise a little extra money to help them cover post-transplant medical expenses and medications, follow-up appointments and transportation, and in-home care and daily support during recovery. We would also love to purchase for her a reclining chair where she can rest more easily during long days and nights of recovery.

My mother is so lucky and blessed to have received a new liver that will improve her quality of life and keep her around for a long time to come! I wish this was the end of our story, but as I sit here typing this, the coming year and transplant recovery plan seems very daunting.

It's going to take a village, but at the same time, that village will have to stay relatively small in order to keep my mom healthy while taking having an almost nonexistent immune system. That's why I created this as a way for friends and family to support from afar. We love you all and even just keeping us in your prayers means the world to us. All funds raised will be kept in a separate account dedicated to Pam's expenses, and I will update everyone during her recovery journey.
