Our Hearts Are Broken
It is with immense sadness that we share the unexpected passing of Cameron William, a loving husband, devoted father, and friend to so many, who left us far too soon at just 46 years old.
While in St. Lucia attending his uncle’s funeral, Cameron suffered a sudden and severe stroke. In a desperate effort to save his life and bring him home, his wife Pam had to navigate significant medical treatment costs in St. Lucia, followed by arranging an air ambulance medical flight back to Kitchener-Waterloo.
The combined cost of Cameron’s medical care in St. Lucia and the air ambulance totalled approximately $55,000 CAD, all of which Pam was required to pay out of pocket. Despite extraordinary efforts by medical teams and the love of family surrounding him, Cameron passed away a few days after returning home.
Cameron leaves behind his wife, Pam, and their beautiful 5-year-old son, Jamari William, who adored his dad deeply and whose world has been forever changed.
Why We’re Asking for Your Help
We are raising funds to support Pam and Jamari through this devastating time. Donations will help:
Cover the $55,000 in medical costs in St. Lucia and the air ambulance home
Support funeral costs and immediate living needs
Establish a long-term trust fund for Jamari’s future care and education
Your generosity, no matter the amount, will provide stability and hope as Pam and Jamari begin navigating life without Cameron.
About the Trust Fund for Jamari
A portion of funds raised (after covering urgent medical and funeral expenses) will be placed into a legally structured trust for Jamari William to ensure his future well-being, education, and opportunities are protected as he grows.
With guidance from Ontario legal and financial professionals, the trust will provide:
- Long-term financial protection
- Transparent oversight
- Clear rules for use (education, health, essential needs)
- Structured support as Jamari reaches adulthood
If the total raised exceeds immediate needs, the family may also establish a Named Fund with the Waterloo Region Community Foundation to support Jamari over the long term.
Financial Transparency
To honour the trust you place in this fundraiser:
- All funds will be deposited into a dedicated account for Pam and Jamari
- Donations will first cover the $55,000 medical and air ambulance expenses, followed by funeral costs
- Remaining funds will be allocated to a formal trust or community foundation fund for Jamari
- This GoFundMe is jointly organized by Dario Dutrisac (brother-in-law) and Amanda Cooper (close family friend) to relieve Pam of administrative burden and ensure responsible stewardship
We are deeply grateful for your kindness, compassion, and support during the most painful chapter our family has ever faced.
