My aunt has always been the heart of our family and a pillar in her community. At 83, she was still driving herself to the grocery store, attending her doctor’s appointments, and paying her bills in person. She dedicated countless hours to volunteering with organizations like Gift of Life and local food banks, always putting others before herself. Her energy and kindness touched everyone she met, and she inspired us all with her independence and generosity.

Tragically, she was recently hit by a car and is now paralyzed from the neck down, facing the same injury as Christopher Reeve. Our family is devastated, but we are determined to give her the best care possible. The costs of medical treatment, specialized equipment, and ongoing support for her new life as a paraplegic are overwhelming. My aunt has been living with one kidney for 25 years, always defying the odds and living life to the fullest. I always told her she was my '50 baby,' not 83, because of her vibrant spirit and determination.
