Let me introduce you to Dugald McLachlan.
To some, he is a son, a brother, a partner, a friend, a colleague, or perhaps just a stranger passing by with a radiating smile. But to me, Dugald is the epitome of grace—living proof of what Aristotle meant when he said, “The ideal man bears life with dignity and grace, making the best of circumstances.”
To me, Dugald is the friend who shows up for me, who cheers me on and celebrates my wins, without needing to be asked. Not because he has to, but because he wants to—because he instinctively knows how much it would mean to me. He's the Recruiting Coordinator who joined our Cash App Talent team and brought the much-needed organisation, enthusiasm, and passion for innovation that we desperately needed. He’s the colleague unafraid to ask hard questions and challenge the status quo, knowing that feedback is a gift and that things can always be better. He’s deeply curious about the “why, how, when, what, and who” of every situation, person, or place.
But above all, Dugald is the ultimate sunflower: big, bold, and bright. His presence feels like basking in the warmth of the sun all day long. And, like a sunflower, Dugald is always seeking the light, even in the darkest of times.
In a situation where anyone would be justified in feeling angry or bitter, Dugald has chosen to find the light. He continues to give back to his loved ones and his community, reflecting the same warmth and kindness that he’s always shown.
That’s who Dugald is—goodness personified.
Now, it’s our turn to be that light for Dugald, to help him continue to bloom. We’re asking for your support in helping Dugald build a lasting legacy. All funds raised will be donated to Flicker of Hope, an organisation dedicated to advancing cancer research for Neurofibromatosis and MPNST.
No contribution is too small or too large. Every bit is a tribute to the love and support we share for a man who has given so much to us and the world around him.
Let’s come together and be the sunflowers in Dugald’s life.
