Support for our Soelberg Colleague Carla Hill

On Friday, May 16th, tragedy struck our Soelberg Industries family. Carla Hill, who is our HR Manager in London, Kentucky facility, found herself directly in the path of one of the most destructive tornadoes the region has ever seen.

Thinking they would be safest in a steel constructed building, she and her husband took shelter there with their son, Marshal, hoping to wait out the storm. What they couldn’t have known was that the tornado would hit them head on with unimaginable force. Steel beams twisted like shoelaces, and massive machinery, some weighing over 30,000 pounds, was tossed like toys. In moments, everything was gone.

But the worst of it, the part that’s nearly impossible to put into words, is Carla’s beloved son, Marshal, didn’t survive. His life was taken in an instant, and theirs were changed forever.

We are heartbroken. As friends, coworkers, and family, we grieve with them and for them. Now, they’re facing the unthinkable, trying to piece their lives back together while mourning the loss of their son.

As a company and a family, we stand beside them in grief, prayer, and unwavering support.
