Our newborn son recently needed surgery to correct a misalignment in his intestines. The procedure went well, and he is currently recovering in the NICU.

The hospital where he is receiving care is more than 70 miles from our home, which has resulted in ongoing travel, meal, and lodging expenses while we stay close to him during his recovery.
