My mom is 65 years old and suffered a stroke last Sunday, February 8, 2026. She was admitted to St. Mary's in Long Beach for six days, and after a difficult week, she was discharged on February 14 with stabilized blood pressure. However, she is still very weak and cannot walk by herself. She requires constant accompaniment and assistance at home, and her recovery will be a long journey.
Right now, my sister and I are doing everything we can to care for her. We are working on getting her medical insurance so she can see a neurologist regularly and receive in-patient physical therapy, as her doctor recommended. With our mom needing constant supervision, both of us—her primary caregivers and breadwinners—have been out of work for several days without pay. We are trying to coordinate a schedule to make sure our mom always has someone with her, but with both of us missing work, it is becoming increasingly difficult to keep up with bills, pay for her prescription medications, and buy the medical supplies she needs.
We are looking for stability and hoping for our mom's full recovery, but we know we can't do this alone. We are humbly asking for any assistance you can offer during this challenging time. Your support will help us provide the care our mom needs and bring us hope as we navigate her recovery. Thank you so much for considering helping our family.
