On March 4th, 2026, our mom’s life changed forever. Without warning, she went into anaphylactic shock for reasons no one could explain. Since that terrifying day, it has happened 12 more times.
She has endured countless emergency room visits, ambulance rides, and hospital stays. She now lives with the constant fear that something as simple as eating or drinking could trigger another life-threatening reaction. She carries EpiPens with her everywhere she goes and is on multiple medications, including antihistamines, steroids, and medications used to treat autoimmune conditions.
After seeing an allergist, she was referred to Washington University to meet with an allergist immunologist. Despite extensive testing, countless appointments, and many attempts to find answers, the doctors are still stumped. They have not found any specific allergies, and they do not believe this is an external trigger. Instead, they believe something inside her body may be causing her immune system to attack itself.
Every episode of anaphylaxis has taken a toll on her body. Her doctors have warned her that each reaction causes additional stress and damage, and she becomes a little weaker with every occurrence. Yet through all of this, she continues to work full-time and care for Brody while trying to navigate a condition that has completely changed her life.
After months of searching for answers, she has been accepted as a patient at the Mayo Clinic from August 10th–13th, where we are hoping she can finally receive more answers and a path toward treatment.
We are asking for help to support our mom during this incredibly difficult time. Donations will go toward travel and medical expenses for her Mayo Clinic visit, hospital bills, medication costs, and helping cover the income she has lost from missed work.
Our mom is so much more than a patient. She is a loving mom, a grandma, and a friend to so many people. She has always been there for everyone else, and now she needs us to be there for her. We are praying for answers, healing, and the chance for her to get her life back.
Any amount of support, whether through a donation or simply sharing her story, means more to our family than words can express. Thank you for helping our mom get the care she desperately needs.
