Our mom is one of the most independent and hardworking people we know. She has always taken pride in providing for herself and rarely asks for help, no matter how tough things get. This weekend, our family received the difficult news that she has been diagnosed with lung cancer. We are still waiting to learn more about the specific type, but we know that the road ahead will be challenging.
