It is a terrible thing for any parent to face a long road of medical care for their child.

It is a terrible thing for any parent to be told that their child's future will be full of unknowns and big decisons, life long medication and other needs currently unknown.

For those of you that don't know. One of our very own JOYful babies has spent many months in and out of hospital. He had a brain tumour that was removed initially but since then has required further surgeries, hospital stays and other procedures that will effect him for the rest of his life.

It is not my story to share so I am keeping the family and details annon. I do not wish to frighten others. I must stress that this is an exceptionally rare situation for a family to be in, but for one of our JOYful family's, right now this is their reality.

Money raised is for the family to be able to purchase anything that they think baby might need to help keep him busy as he is very reluctant to stay still! I would like to purchase a Toni box and stories and song figures for them to share with him in those times where he is required to be still or stay in his bed.

It may be that his parents can buy in cook shop meals so that when they pop home they don't have to worry about the day to day practicalities. They have an older son who is an AMAZING big brother and maybe they could treat him to a special day out. They are amazing parents, they will make good decisions.

It is my hope that our JOYful village can help in a small way to ease the practical burden upon the family.
