Support For Our Friend Himal Tamang

Anyone who has had the honor of meeting Himal knows that their lives have been touched by a truly special kind of soul that leaves an impression of deep caring and kindness. Himal has been working most of his life as a trekking guide based out of Kathmandu. His hospitality and attentiveness erase any line between client and friend. Despite hardships throughout his life affecting all of his family, including earthquakes and floods destroying homes, Himal has retained an inspired and determined outlook. We had the pleasure of spending a week with him during our honeymoon back in 2017 during which we made some of our most cherished memories. We have kept in contact ever since and have always planned to someday meet again.

Recently the Covid-19 situation has been devastating to the tourism industry in Nepal. Lockdowns and little government aid have endangered the wellbeing of millions, including the Tamang family and their young child. Basic necessities such as food and shelter are in serious jeopardy and our friend is living in constant anxiety. 

Please help us support our dear friend and his young family. Our goal is set for their living costs of approximately one year.  There is no certainty in knowing how long the tourism industry will be shut down, but it is safe to say that an entire work season will be effectively eliminated.
