How amazing are y'all! Your donations have really helped us. When we started this gofundme, I was a bit scared. I am not one to ask for money, just raised differently I guess. But this campaign has showed me I am not alone in this world. We are a month from the drowning of our Farm and animals. Still haven't found a lot of our stuff. Most likely it is in the bottom of our neighbors' newly formed lake feature (runs along the Pacific Train tracks and is pretty deep still!). Insurance doesn't cover anything outside of the house and the garage. Chicken coops will need to be replaced as all 5 were severely impacted. the Iron Barn will need rehab as well as the Brew Barn. Those two outbuilding got about 5 feet of water INSIDE of them. It can be disheartening and Flood Insurance doesn't cover them.
Do know that your contributions have made a difference in our and our chicken's lives. You are what make us thankful, every day1
Paraphrasing Spock the needs of the many outweighed our needs. Thankfully, we survived the ordeal, but, as you can see, we now have all of our birds out and about, which is not safe for them. We also have flooded coops which means they're roosting all over everything, making a mess of it all. Then there is the property damage of their coops, our storage outbuildings and contents, decks and more, none of which are covered by flood insurance and homeowners insurance won't cover any of it either.
Most importantly, flooding in and under our home. makes it unlivable until it's rehabbed, and that will take time with so many in Washington impacted. What we'd like from you is the financial support to help us have a place to live. We're currently in a hotel that is costing us $2000/week, which is unsustainable. The bills we were paying didn't go away just because we can't live in our home.
If you have the ability, please give what you can. This is going to be a long road with a lot of cleanup and unplanned living costs that insurance will not cover.
