My wife, Tara and I have always faced life’s challenges together, but right now we are experiencing one of the hardest times we’ve ever known. Tara has been in the ICU for a week and counting, fighting for her health. She is having several health complications, from low oxygen levels, blood pressure complications, rapid heart rate issues, and so much more.
I am also preparing for a neck/spine surgery that will leave me unable to work for three months without pay. I have been dealing with numbness in both hands and the pain that comes with it. After several months of testing, the doctors discovered that I have a disc that is severely compressing the nerves that control my hands. Given the situation my wife is in at the moment, I would normally just reschedule my surgery. However, I've been advised strongly against that as the severity of my neck is bad enough that if I slip, trip, fall or get in any kind of accident, it could deem me a quadriplegic. Given that I am a mail carrier that walks 15 miles per day, the risk of something like that happening is quite high, especially with the winter weather we've been having.
The stress of both of us being unwell at the same time has been extremely overwhelming, and we are doing our best to stay strong; however, in Tara's current status I have to be strong enough for the both of us. As we navigate this difficult journey, the financial strain is becoming more than we can manage alone. The funds raised here will go directly toward covering our mounting medical bills and helping us keep up with our monthly expenses while we both recover. Your support will give us the breathing room we need to focus on healing and getting back to our lives.
My wife and I have gone through many tribulations, but this one is hitting us hard, both at the same time. Anything that anyone can help with is very appreciated and will help us get through this hardship and back to our lives of normalcy. God bless.
