My family has been through a lot over the past couple of years. After our baby was born, I struggled with postpartum depression and anxiety, especially since our little one was severely colicky for almost six months. With no help and the constant stress, I eventually had a mental breakdown. My husband stepped up and carried so much of the load for our family, working hard at a steel mill refinery and supporting us through every challenge.

Now, things have taken another difficult turn. The stress and responsibility became overwhelming for my husband, and he recently experienced a mental health crisis that required hospitalization. He is a devoted father, husband, and son-in-law, and while his job is protected under the FMLA law, we have no income while he recovers. I reached out to his boss to see if sick hours could be used, but unfortunately, that wasn’t possible. I have proof of this and will share all hospital paperwork once he is released, so there is no doubt about our situation.

With my husband in the hospital, I am caring for our high-needs toddler and my elderly father, who has cirrhosis and severe scoliosis. Our baby is thriving in daycare, which is essential for his development, but it’s another expense we’re struggling to cover. The funds raised will help us pay for rent, bills, food, daycare, and necessities for our home and pets while I try to keep everything together. We never ask for help unless it’s truly needed, and right now, we are in a place where any support would mean the world to us.
