Hello, my name is Maria and I'm trying to help my boyfriend and I get through this terrible time.He was out of town for road work in Perry Florida when I got a scary call Wednesday @2am that he had a seizure while sleeping .His god parents came to pick me up as soon as they got off the phone with me and we drove from pc to Tallahassee. He was transported to the hospital via life flight, where he was admitted to the ICU, intubated, and placed in a medically induced coma. The doctors were uncertain about the cause of the seizure. At 4pm the doctors had awakened him from the coma and removed the intubation tube; he was experiencing intense pain like migraines,back pain body pain, and nausea due to muscle tissue break down.He was also struggling to recall what was happening through the day. Thursday afternoon he was moved out of ICU but is still being closely monitored due to his kidney levels being more severe than when he was admitted. The CT scan and MRI performed on Friday yielded positive results, and the EEG indicated no active seizure activity. The medical team began collecting blood samples for comprehensive testing to identify potential causes.Saturday He was in kidney failure ,on standby for temp dialysis if no progress was made in 24/48 hrs and creatinine levels starting reaching 9.9 . High creatinine levels in the blood signify inadequate kidney function, with normal levels being 1.3 or lower. The kidney failure was caused by muscle breakdown during the seizure, which can harm or clog the kidneys, a diagnosis referred to as rhabdomyolysis. The medical team was optimistic that 9.9 was the peak level and the number would start to decline, but by Saturday night, levels reached 11, and his feet became swollen due to his body's impaired ability to filter liquids. Sunday's update was relatively uneventful, with a creatinine level of 11.8 and a decrease in muscle breakdown numbers, indicating a favorable outcome. On Monday morning, his levels increased to 12, swelling in his sides ,accompanied by a blood pressure reading of 169/110, which later rose to 178/112, prompting the administration of blood pressure medication. The doctors reported today that he is likely to be discharged within the next day or two, as his creatinine levels have decreased to 8.9 and his condition has improved overall.We still don’t know what really caused him to have a seizure .I am reaching out for financial help because my partner and I have been out of work since Wednesday, and he does not have medical insurance. He has always been the main breadwinner, covering rent, while I take care of food, household essentials, and my car payment. We also have individual expenses, such as car insurance and pet food. Legally, he will not be able to drive for six months, which is a significant part of his job. We are unsure about what's next and would be grateful for any assistance, even if it's just a share or $5. . We are scared of what the future holds for our little family.
