Give for Maria’s cancer care: medical bills, housing, and living costs
This is something I never imagined having to write, but our family is facing an incredibly difficult moment.
My wife is bravely fighting Stage 4 breast cancer that has spread to her liver and spine. Her condition is serious, and she is currently facing significant challenges, but we are doing everything possible to support her treatment and recovery. She is the light of my life and the strength of our family. I am humbly asking for help to support her and our family during this fight. She is a devoted mother of three.

Who is Maria

Maria is my wife and the loving mother of our three children. We have been married for 30 years and counting. She has always been a kind soul who helped others whenever she could. She is a strong, capable mother who handled every situation with grace and determination.
Maria is a hard worker who dedicated 10 years to her job at JBS Hyrum Beef Plant, rarely missing a day. She loved walking her dog, Linda, and enjoyed long nature hikes. My hope is that she can continue to enjoy parts of the life she loves as she continues treatment.

Nov 15, 2025: Went to the hospital for back pain
Nov 26, 2025: Told the cancer had spread to her liver (she could barely walk at this point)
Dec 3, 2025: Scans performed
Dec 5, 2025: Additional scans
Dec 7, 2025: Became more bedridden
Dec 9, 2025: Oncology meeting — diagnosed with Stage 4 Breast Cancer with liver and bone metastases
Dec 10, 2025: Called back into the hospital for high calcium
Dec 10 – present: Hospitalized while doctors evaluate and begin treatment

Dec 17, 2025: Maria was discharged from the hospital and deemed stable enough to return home.

Treatments So Far
=======================================
During her hospital stay, Maria began radiation therapy and hormone therapy (letrozole). While her liver function remains fragile and closely monitored, treatment has begun and we are continuing forward with hope.

The cancer has spread to multiple areas of her liver, making her condition very serious. Despite this, I believe there is still hope, and we are fighting with everything we have. I am asking for help to support her during this critical time.

Dec 27: Her bilirubin level increased to 6, and while her liver function is still fragile, she has not developed jaundice. She just started treatment a few days ago, and every day matters as we continue to push forward.

- We are fighting tirelessly with our insurance company to approve a PET scan and Kisqali (ribociclib)
- Maria’s appetite has changed, and we carefully adjust her diet daily
- I am unable to return to work because she requires full-time care
