Rob is an amazing dad and husband who has always put his family first. Doing whatever had to be done to be able to keep a roof over our heads and food on the table. Recently, he was diagnosed with stage 4 aggressive glioblastoma, and our world has changed overnight. From having a life saving heart surgery and recovering and getting back to work and fully functioning as a normal person to then suddenly getting transported to the ER for the doctors to find a lesion in his brain and loss of all ability of his left side, followed by seizures is a lot to happen in such a short amount of time. Robert has always been the one to care for others—he looked after our grandmother (his mother) who has dementia, among a plethora of medical issues for over a decade, not being able to sleep for more than 4 hours at a time to keep up with her schedule of medicine and care. He made time to tend to his bee hives in the backyard always giving back to family and friends whenever they wanted some amazing honey, enjoyed gaming with his friends and of course being out on the water fishing. Now, due to paralysis on the left side of his body, he can no longer do the things he loves or support those who depend on him.

With my Dad fully unable to work, honestly our family has been and is struggling to keep up with everyday expenses. My mom is a VPK teacher here in Martin county, and while she works hard, her income isn’t enough to cover all the bills. The stress has been overwhelming, especially after receiving the official diagnosis just two days ago. My mom is emotionally and physically drained trying to keep everything a float and be with my sister and my father and losing sleep, worried about how we’ll manage. If we can get help covering these bills for the next six months, it would give all of us the chance to focus on spending precious time with our Dad, without the constant fear of losing our home or falling too far behind.
