Support for Our Family During a Difficult Chapter

Hi everyone,

It’s incredibly hard for me to write this. Anyone who knows me knows I always try to handle everything on my own, and asking for help is something I never do lightly. But right now, my family is going through something I never expected, and we truly need support.

As many of you know, our 4-month-old daughter was recently admitted to the hospital for a week due to recurrent UTI infections—and we still don’t have answers as to why. This was her third hospitalization since she was just 3.5 weeks old, and each time has taken a financial toll on us. On top of that, we’re worried about her long-term health and what can be done to prevent this from happening again, especially since the doctors still don’t know the cause. I’ll need to miss more work for upcoming appointments as we continue searching for answers, which is another financial hurdle. It’s been terrifying to watch her go through this while also trying to manage everything else. I was supposed to return to work this week after maternity leave, but instead, I’ve been living in a hospital room, focused entirely on her care and recovery.

At the same time, our sons got sick at home out of nowhere. Their dad has had to miss work to care for them, and I can’t even be there to help. They keep asking for their mom, and it breaks my heart that I can’t be with them too. I wish more than anything I could be in two places at once.

This situation has been emotionally, physically, and financially exhausting. During my pregnancy, there were no signs of any issues with her anatomy—like any parent, all I wanted was a happy, healthy baby. This is not something I ever expected to face with her health and financially. I’ve always planned our bills and finances carefully, but the timing couldn’t be worse, as I transition from maternity leave back to work. We’re doing our best, but the loss of income while caring for our kids is going to be very hard to catch up.

We’re asking for help to raise enough to cover the income we’ve lost and to pay essential bills like rent, food, gas, and utilities. Any support, no matter how small, would make a real difference right now.
