Support for Our Family After Tornado Tragedy
Donation protected
On Friday morning, our family experienced a nightmare no one should ever have to live through. A powerful tornado tore through the home where my mom, dad, Ronnie, and Tonya were sheltering together in the laundry room. As the storm struck, Ronnie did everything he could to protect everyone—but the tornado threw them all from the house and destroyed everything they owned. Unfortunately Ronnie didn’t make it.
Miraculously, my parents and Tonya survived—but not without injury. My dad and Tonya is currently in the ICU, fighting to recover. He and Ronnie are first cousins, but they’ve always been more like brothers. The bond between them runs deep.
Despite the severity of what happened, no one outside of the families involved has reached out to help my parents. They are left with nothing—no home, no belongings, and an uphill battle to heal physically and emotionally.
After being thrown from the house, they searched desperately for Ronnie and Tonya or a phone to call for help. With no success, they had no choice but to leave the property and flag down help. When they finally found someone, they were met with disbelief. They were told there was “no tornado,” and that it “looked like a car accident.”
A tree had crushed the truck they were in, and they had to drive through the ditch and over fallen trees to escape. They weren’t trying to outrun the storm—they survived the storm. They left only to try and get help for Ronnie and Tonya.
It breaks our hearts that this is being misunderstood and misrepresented by local authorities and news outlets, and that the truth of what happened is being ignored.
Please, if you can help in any way—whether through a donation, a share, or kind words—our family would be deeply grateful. Every little bit will go toward helping my parents recover, replace what was lost, and rebuild their lives.
Thank you for reading, supporting, and standing with us in this devastating time. ❤️
