A fire broke out in our apartment, and the sprinkler system activated and successfully put the fire out, helping prevent an even greater tragedy. However, the water from the sprinkler system caused extensive damage throughout our home, leaving our apartment uninhabitable and destroying many of our belongings.

One of the most frightening parts of this experience was that our smoke detector and carbon monoxide detector did not work, so we were not alerted to the danger as quickly as we should have been. We are incredibly grateful that everyone made it out safely, but we are now facing the overwhelming challenge of starting over.

We are asking for help as we work to rebuild our lives. Donations will go toward temporary housing, clothing, food, toiletries, medications, school supplies for our children, furniture, household essentials, and other unexpected expenses that come with losing a home so suddenly.
