My mom was diagnosed with stage 2-3 lung cancer on March 10th, 2026. Just ten days later, she was admitted to the ICU after the cancer spread rapidly throughout her body, including her brain. She suffered severe kidney injury, dehydration, and had both e.coli and strep bacteria in her blood. On March 21st, we made the heartbreaking decision to put her on hospice care, and she passed away that evening. She left behind seven children, ages 11 to 28, 1 grandkid, age 3, and her husband, age 55.
This loss has been incredibly sudden and difficult for our family. We are now facing unexpected medical bills, funeral costs, and the challenge of covering living expenses as we try to process and heal from this tragedy. My mom was the most amazing person—she didn’t know a stranger and always helped everyone she met. We knew her time was limited, but we thought we had at least a few more weeks with her.
