My mom was the anchor of our family—always encouraging, always there to cheer us on, and always just a phone call away. She was the first person I wanted to share news with, and she brought so much warmth and laughter to our lives. Sharing the title of 'mom' with her has been one of the greatest joys of my life. My parents were married for almost 40 years, and she was the same rock for my dad and my sister as she was for me.

She loved the ocean, soaking up the sunshine, her dog Acer, gardening, flowers and spending time with her family. She was incredibly generous, always putting others before herself, and she had a gift for making everyone feel welcome. My mom was also a highly talented quilter, and I have a beautiful memory of her finishing a baby quilt while snuggling with my cat, glowing in the afternoon sun. She loved sailing, could talk to anyone, and told the most detailed stories. The nurses who cared for her told us our family was a breath of fresh air, and I know that's because of the love and selflessness she showed every day.

Her sudden passing has left us heartbroken. What means the most is the love and support of our friends and family. Any gesture—whether a message, a hug, or a contribution—is deeply appreciated. In her memory, a donation to the VT Audubon Society, the Central VT Humane Society, or another nature-based nonprofit she loved would be a meaningful tribute. Any contributions left over after expenses will be donated in her name.
