Help Baby Kane Heal: Support for Our Family After Emergency Infant Heart Surgery

Hi friends, family, and kind strangers,
We’re reaching out to support our family—Arianne and Chris—and their newborn twins, Kane and Dean, now 7 weeks old.
During Arianne’s pregnancy, everything seemed to be going smoothly—until 28 weeks, when Baby Kane (lovingly called "Baby B" in the womb) was found to be measuring small. A detailed ultrasound revealed a congenital heart defect called Tetralogy of Fallot (TOF), a rare but serious condition involving four abnormalities that affect blood flow and oxygen levels.
The twins were born at 37 weeks, full term. Doctors hoped Kane could wait until 4–7 months old for heart surgery, but his condition worsened sooner than expected. At just 6 weeks old and weighing just over 6 pounds, Kane’s oxygen saturation dropped dangerously low after an attempt to stabilize him with a stent failed. His care team had no choice but to proceed with emergency open-heart surgery.
To monitor his recovery closely, Kane was left with an open chest—an incredibly difficult thing for any parent or grandparent to witness. The original estimate was that he might remain open for several weeks, but miraculously, he’s healing faster than expected and is already ready to be closed up just one week later. He is strong, slowly being weaned off pain medication and sedatives, and is surrounded by a loving family who visit him daily.
While his recovery has been inspiring, the emotional and financial toll on this young family has been overwhelming. Kane still needs to gain strength, prove he can eat and grow regularly, and will remain hospitalized until it’s safe to bring him home.
Chris and Arianne are doing everything in their power to stay afloat. They’ve had to place much of their daily expenses and medical-related travel on credit cards. While their insurance is good, Arianne’s portion of the C-section is just under $10,000, and Kane’s daily hospital cost after insurance is $330 per day, not including pain management or specialty medications.
This all came just after a huge milestone in their lives: **In October 2024, they opened their dream family business, Apex R&D, a mechanic shop in Weatherford, TX—**and found out they were expecting twins the same month. Chris is a gifted, sought-after mechanic, and Arianne runs the business side of things with passion and professionalism. In April, a few weeks before the twins arrived, they relocated to Plano, TX (80 miles from the shop), and are now navigating not only the NICU and surgery aftermath—but also transitioning the business to a new area.
They’re optimistic, grounded, and full of love and vision. They're already working to rebuild customer relationships closer to home and are confident referrals and new clients will follow once the dust settles. This is just a bump in the road for them—but it's a big one.
We are asking for $100,000 to help cover:
Medical expenses (surgery, daily NICU care, medications)

Business and living expenses during this disruption

Credit card debt incurred to survive this crisis

Relocation and rebuilding of their family business

These are two of the most responsible, humble, and prepared people we know. They’ve handled unimaginable stress with grace. And one day soon, Kane and Dean will be playing in the same garage their parents built with love—a place that stands not just for repairs, but for resilience.
Let’s help this amazing family get through this time without the crushing weight of financial stress. Every dollar helps. Every share matters.
Thank you for standing with them.

From our family to yours—thank you for lifting us up in this time of need.
With love and deep appreciation,
The Bestes, Mulls, Walls, Poissons & Haleys
