Our dad was a pedestrian hit by a car going 55 mph and suffered a traumatic brain injury. I was notified at his death bed that I am his next of kin. I'm freshly 18, still in high school, and my brother Christian is 17. Our family doesn't have much money, and we have zero funds to cover these expenses. This has all happened so suddenly that we are still trying to process everything.

Being told I was responsible for our dad's final arrangements while still in high school was overwhelming. Christian and I are both struggling to cope with this loss, and we want to honor our dad and give him a proper goodbye. We are trying to find peace in this horrible situation and move forward with dignity, even though it is so hard. The costs are more than we can handle alone. Our family has always struggled financially, and now, with these unexpected expenses, we are feeling even more lost.
