My wife and I recently had a baby. When she took off work for pregnancy, we were caught between having insurance and open enrollment for my work. We just got a case of bad luck and bad timing. The birth had complications requiring a blood transfusion among other stabilizing procedures that don't normally take place in child birth. We hope to relieve some of our medical obligations and some of our overdue expenses to be able to be more present at home instead of getting a second job.
