It is with immense sorrow that we share the news of our daughter’s untimely delivery and passing. Being high-risk, Mai unexpectedly went into preterm labor late evening on Mother’s Day, May 11, and after doing everything medically possible to prolong the pregnancy, our precious daughter was delivered on Tuesday, May 13, 2025, at just 21 weeks and 5 days. Due to her gestational age, our baby could not survive outside of the womb.

Now, instead of a baby shower, we are planning a small graveside memorial for her, and will be laying her to rest, so that we may find closure. Despite this being our second pregnancy loss two years in a row, this is something no parents-to-be ever anticipate or plan for, so we find ourselves unprepared for these expenses. We have created this GoFundMe so that our family and friends, and anyone who feels led to, may contribute if they wish to. Any amount, big or small, is greatly appreciated, and will be used to cover funeral home expenses, the cost of the cemetery plot, the headstone, and other unexpected medical bills.

Our daughter’s paternal grandmother graciously gave her the name Paj Dib (Padee), which means “cucumber flowers” in Hmong—most appropriate, as Paj Dib was a beautiful delicate flower that we only had the privilege of having in our lives for a brief moment.
