Hi, this is Janelle writing on behalf of my dad, Eric, and the rest of my family.

This past Friday, December 12th, my dad suffered a hemorrhagic stroke. He is currently in the ICU in a medically induced coma while his brain heals. He underwent emergency surgery to relieve pressure on his brain, and the doctors are closely monitoring his progress. We are encouraged that the bleeding is draining, and that he is fighting the sedation and showing signs of wanting to wake up, though he still has a long road ahead.

He is the main provider for our family and has always made sure my little sisters and I have everything we need. He is a father, husband, son, and friend. I never thought the day would come when I’d say I miss hearing him loudly watching the Miami Dolphins play football in the family room. We hope for the day when we can all sit together again, making jokes and sharing the simple moments that mean everything to us.

Right now, our focus is on making sure he has everything he needs to heal and recover, including access to the absolute best possible care.

Between ICU care, surgery, ongoing treatment, and future therapy and rehabilitation, the financial burden will continue to grow. Any support — whether through donating or sharing — truly means the world to us and helps relieve some of the stress so we can focus on being there for him.
