Dad is home after his 2nd surgery! Recovery is painful and for those who know my dad, that is saying alot. Its crazy to see the photos of everything the doctors did! We appreciate everyone who has donated, called dad, visited dad, or even said a prayer! Ill keep everyone as updated as I can. Thank you!!

Dad is home curerently but will have another surgery in 1 week. Unfortunately, it does look like he will be out of work longer then expected especially if they need to do a knee replacement after this 5 month recovery time! We appreciate each and every person who has prayed, shared, and donated! I really is deeply appreciated ❤️

On the afternoon of December 13, 2025, our dad was involved in a serious accident that will keep him out of work for an estimated five months. He suffered a severe break to his left leg, fracturing both his tibia and fibula at the knee joint and compressing the leg. This is not a simple break, he will require multiple surgeries followed by months of recovery and physical therapy.

At the time of the accident, our dad was riding his dirt bike, something he loved when he was younger and had only recently been able to return to. For years, he put work, responsibility, and providing for his family ahead of everything else. He rarely took time off, rarely spent money on himself, and always made sure everyone else came first. That moment of happiness has now turned into a long and uncertain road to recovery.

Our dad is a semi-truck driver who has spent his life laying asphalt throughout Colorado Springs. He has helped build the very roads our community drives on every day. For years, people around town have known him not just as a truck driver, but as “that guy with the freaky clown” on his truck- a familiar, unforgettable sight that makes people smile, wave, or laugh as he rolls by. That truck isn’t just how he makes a living, it’s who he is. He has spent many years serving this community through hard, physical labor. While our family is closely connected to Meisman Trucking, one of the major trucking companies in the area, our dad owns and operates his own truck, Just Truckn. We share this to show the dedication and years of work he has given to this community; work he is incredibly proud of.

The most frightening part is that he does not have health insurance or savings. Every doctor’s visit, test, and the upcoming surgery are entirely out of pocket. At the same time, because of the physical demands of his job, he cannot drive or earn income while injured. The financial pressure is overwhelming and immediate.

Like many families, they live paycheck to paycheck, and he is the sole provider for his household. Doctors estimate it will be at least three months before he can put any weight on his leg, and only after that will physical therapy begin. Realistically, it may be five months or longer before he is able to return to work. Since his truck is a manual transmission, this injury prevents him from “toughing it out” and getting back behind the wheel anytime soon.

Anyone who knows our dad knows that he never stops working. Even on his days off, he is helping someone, fixing something, or lending a hand. At 50 years old, he is one of the hardest-working people we know. He would give someone his last dollar without hesitation, and he has done exactly that more times than we can count. He has picked up hitchhikers, driven hundreds of miles out of his way to help strangers, and always puts others before himself. My dad has always been a provider, strong, hardworking, and independent. Asking for help does not come easily to him, but right now, we have no other choice. The cost of surgery, follow up care, and basic living expenses is more than we can manage alone.

Right now, we are trying to find ways to keep his truck running to bring in some form of income, but even hiring a driver would require paying wages and additional insurance costs. With these expenses, the income from the truck would barely cover daily bills, let alone mounting medical costs.

This fundraiser is about helping a man who spent his life working without rest finally receive the support he so freely gave to others. Any contribution, no matter the size, helps keep his truck paid for, the household running, and medical bills from overwhelming our family during this long recovery.
