Our baby girl was born with a critical congenital heart defect called Dexetro Transposition of the Great Arteries (D-TGA). This is where the two main arteries leaving the heart are reversed, causing oxygen-poor blood to circulate throughout the body and most importantly her lungs. From the moment she was born, she was intubated and placed on a ventilator in the NICU until she could receive an open heart surgery to correct her heart. A day before her surgery she began going into heart failure and her kidneys severally suffered the consequences. After a long 6 hour surgery, our daughter successfully had her heart repaired.
Following surgery, she required dialysis to help her kidneys recover and was eventually sent home with oxygen support to help her lungs grow stronger. Her journey is far from over, and she continues to face ongoing hospital visits, specialist appointments, medications, and medical equipment needs.
Unfortunately, our case doesn't qualify for financial help and insurance only partially covered the cost of her surgery and hospital stay. Our insurance also only covered some of her medications and home medical equipment.
To be completely transparent, we're struggling and we need help.
We’re reaching out with humble hearts to ask for support during an incredibly difficult time for our family. Our baby girl is facing serious medical challenges, and as we focus on her care, the financial burden of medical expenses, travel, and time away from work has become overwhelming.
Asking for help is not easy, but we know it truly takes a village. Any donation, no matter the size, or even simply sharing our story, would mean more to us than words can express.
We are deeply grateful for your kindness, prayers, and support as we navigate this journey. Thank you for standing with our family during this time.
May God Bless you.
