I contemplated over and over again on where to even begin our story, but I’ll try my best. My parents came to this country at a young age, where they have built a loving and stable home for us all. My parents have struggled but always made sure we had everything we needed. Raising 6 children wasn’t easy for them, but they made it work for us no matter what. My mother was the homemaker, and my father the provider, but as tired as they might have been, they always made the time to make memories with us. My father built himself a career as an electrician and also taught the trade to many in the family. Neatly put, the man is amazing at what he does. My father, the head of the household, our protector, and most caring man, was recently diagnosed with stomach cancer. This news came as a shock to our entire family. In the past year, my father’s health has deteriorated significantly. We have seen his happiness slowly drift away, and it’s a difficult thing to witness. Witnessing his health decline is incredibly challenging, especially given the strength and guidance he's always provided for us all. My father has always been my rock and the rock to so many more. My father has always supported every single one of our family members, from his own kids, cousins, and grandkids, and many more. My father is no longer able to work, and we as a family are trying to pick up the pieces to keep moving forward. Through his diagnosis, he has been a true champ and is trying to push forward with a smile on his face every morning. We ask for prayers and support that my father can continue to be here with us for many more years through his journey in life. I thank you all from the bottom of our hearts for giving me the opportunity to share his story.
