Hello, my name is Liudmyla, and I’m fundraising for my husband, Oleh.
Just 2.5 years ago, we moved to Canada full of hope, ready to build a better life for our family. My husband Oleh is only 34, and he is one of the kindest, most hardworking people I know.
On May 15, 2025, our lives changed forever — Oleh suffered a stroke. Tragically, the hospital didn’t recognize it in time and sent him home. When his condition worsened, we returned to the hospital, but valuable time had already been lost.
After weeks in the hospital, Oleh was discharged — but just 5 days later, on June 19, he had a second stroke. Once again, it wasn’t recognized right away, and the delay made things worse.
While recovering in the hospital from this second stroke, he suffered yet another one, which further weakened him.
The first stroke had already left him paralyzed on the right side. He had just started making small improvements when the second and third strokes took away what little progress he had made. Now, in addition to paralysis, Oleh has vision problems and constant dizziness.
He has been fighting for nearly three months, and no one can tell us how long this recovery might take.
Oleh now needs daily physical and occupational therapy, medications, and full-time care. I’m doing everything I can — working full-time, looking after him, managing all responsibilities — but it’s simply too much for one person.
Your support — no matter how small — can make a real difference. It helps cover the cost of Oleh’s care and gives him the best chance at recovery. And it gives me hope and strength to keep going.
From the bottom of my heart — thank you for being here with us.
