Officer Hollister battling injury and cancer

Officer Kelly Hollister, is a dedicated veteran police officer of the Norwalk, CT Police Department. She currently serves as a school resource officer at West Rocks middle school. On January 28th 2019, Officer Hollister had to restrain an out of control student who unfortunately became physically combative with Officer Hollister. During the altercation, Officer Hollister sustained serious damage to her left Knee. Officer Hollister recently had to undergo knee surgery in hopes to repair her injured knee. Unfortunately, Officer Hollister’s knee surgery did not resolve her injury, which now results in her needing additional surgery(s) to repair the damage.In addition to dealing with the physical injuries sustained in this event, While trying to recover from this injury, Officer Hollister was recently diagnosed with breast cancer. Officer Hollister will be going in for mastectomy surgery on September 26th.

Officer Hollister has financial obligations as we all do. Due to her being out of work injured and her inability to earn extra pay (i.e. overtime, detail pay, court time) she finds herself struggling to make ends meet which now causes additional stress to her and will most likely affect her ability to heal quickly and hopefully return to the profession she so loves.
