Odhrán is an 8 year old boy from Ballygawley Co Tyrone. He is fun, caring, kind and an amazing older brother to Ruairí and Saoirse. He loves playing gaelic football for his club Errigal Ciaran and even had the opportunity to have his wish come true and tog out with some of his hero's on the hallowed turf of Croke Park last year. He enjoys playing hurling and soccer too. When he's not playing sports he likes to build lego and play with friends on his PS5.

On the 2nd of January 2025 life changed for the McGirr family when Odhrán was diagnosed with an aggressive High Grade Glioblastoma which is an extremely rare and difficult to treat brain tumour. Over the course of the past 12 months Odhrán has undergone two surgery's, intensive radiotherapy and chemotherapy to try to slow down the progression of the tumour. Unfortunately we have now reached a point in the journey where our treatment options are limited.

We are looking to fundraise to support Paddy, Catriona, Ruairí, Saoirse and in particular Odhrán through this next stage so they can make the most out of time together as a family and enable them to provide whatever supports and treatment Odhrán now requires. We are incredibly grateful to Odhrans medical team, support workers and external organisations who care for him and will always be thankful for their kindness during this difficult time.

Throughout all of this Odhrán has given us all the strength to go on, he has taken it all in his stride displaying massive courage, bravery and determination on a daily basis. Qualities he displays in all aspects of life both on and off the pitch. He is an inspiration to us all living in the moment and taking it one day at a time.
